SUNY Poly’s CNETI encompasses the constellations of Nanoengineering, Nanoeconomics, and Technology and Innovation, offering graduate and undergraduate degrees in these areas while providing a cross-disciplinary approach to enable a truly actionable nanoengineering-centered education. Through industrial internships and academic research experiences, students gain knowledge of cutting-edge technologies and learn the critical skills and techniques necessary to achieve lasting success in the dynamic world of nanoengineering.

SUNY Poly’s unique public-private partnerships allow faculty and students to co-locate with globally recognized industry leaders in innovation. CNETI students are able to take advantage of these relationships through challenging internships that provide exciting opportunities to gauge just how well CNETI has prepared them for success.

Entrepreneurship in Action

CNETI is also pioneering a unique entrepreneurial educational experience, offering unparalleled resources to assist faculty and students in the commercialization of their technologies. This is made possible through training, coursework, and individual mentoring. But that’s just the beginning: CNETI oversees the annual $500,000 New York Business Competition, the nation’s largest statewide collegiate business plan competition. Another example of what CNETI catalyzes: CNETI’s SPARC incubator works with dozens of advanced technology startups in the fields of energy, biotechnology, and material science to assist them with establishing operations in New York State and bring their products to market. Because here, it is possible and encouraged to graduate and already be building your own company.

SUNY Poly’s CNETI is also delving into new areas of growth, such as the Industrial Internet of Things, where students and faculty are focusing on scale-up and manufacturability of smart devices and systems, as well as Integrated Energy Platforms, which are centered on improving a range of energy-related technologies along with their integration and manufacturability.
