Charles (Sonny) Greco

Charles (Sonny) Greco graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Oneonta in 2008, earning a bachelor’s degree in political science.  Sonny is currently studying to receive an Executive Master of Public Administration degree from the University of South Dakota.    

Immediately after graduation, Sonny worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for former Congressman Michael Arcuri.  During this time, Sonny assisted constituents in the Utica based congressional district and advised the Congressman on legislation pertaining to Veterans and small business issues.  

In 2011, Sonny was appointed by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to serve as his Regional Representative for the Mohawk Valley, covering a six-county region. In 2013, Sonny joined Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri’s Administration as Chief of Staff, a position he currently holds.  

Having also served as Executive Director of LIFE at RCIL, a local non-profit that advocates for individuals with disabilities, Sonny believes in promoting disability accessibility throughout our community.

In 2014, Sonny was recognized by the Genesis Group as a Striving for Success Awardee, an award for community oriented young professionals.

Sonny was appointed to the College Council in 2021 and lives in Utica with his wife and daughter.
