As a part of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly), the College of Business aims to be recognized as a premier provider of general management, technology management, finance, and accounting programs at a public polytechnic institution by utilizing our resources to provide quality programs related to teaching, scholarship, societal responsibility, leadership, and service. We will achieve this vision by continuously improving programs as guided by principles that align with and support SUNY Poly’s broader vision, mission, values, and objectives.
Our three strategic principles are as follows:
Experiential Learning: Providing students with exceptional experiential learning opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom with the aim of enhancing engagement, learning, business acumen, leadership ability, and positive social purpose. In particular, we will promote management practices, infused with design thinking, to better prepare students for leadership positions.
Innovation: Fostering the development and transmission of new research and knowledge about innovative and emerging technologies as well as state-of-the-art technology transfer and commercialization approaches.
Entrepreneurship: Imbuing students and the broader SUNY Poly community with the capacity and efficacy to create and grow innovative businesses and social ventures.
To verify our progress towards this vision and focus on high quality education, the College of Business will continue to use proven assurance of learning methods to longitudinally assess and strategically enhance our programs.
The College of Business is committed to offering affordable high quality AACSB accredited management and professional education that is focused on meeting the needs of students and organizations in their local community, state, and global environments. We are dedicated to providing undergraduate, graduate, and other learning opportunities that are accessible to qualified students and responsive to entrepreneurship and evolving technologies. The College of Business is committed to continuously improving its programs through learning assurance, scholarship, technology utilization, and service. The faculty’s scholarship reflects a blending of traditional management practice with contemporary technology innovation and design thinking.
