After paying your tuition deposit, submit the online confirmation form.
Per the policy of NY CREATES, the owner and operator of the buildings at the SUNY Poly Albany Nanotech Complex, due to the sensitive research activities conducted at the site, all non-US persons who wish to enter the complex will be required to undergo a clearance check through NY CREATES’ Visitor Management System. This clearance check will be completed at no cost to students (or others), takes approximately 2 weeks to process, and must be completed prior to a student's arrival to the US.
To proceed with the clearance check SUNY Poly’s International Admissions Office will need to provide certain information to NY CREATES, including some directory information (e.g., name) and the following FERPA protected information, which requires SUNY Poly to obtain your permission prior to sharing it with NY CREATES. The information we need your permission to share is: your country of citizenship and visa type. Submit FERPA Authorization Form.
Your SITNet ID gives you access to the following important resources: Banner (our student record and course registration system), Blackboard (our Learning Management System which supports online learning), Degree Works (our degree audit system), and library services. Use our online SITNet ID Activation Instructions to get your account created and it will be ready to use within one hour of activation.
Your NetID is your second required campus computer account which gives you access to the following: wired/wireless network access, email services, network file shares, and printing.
SUNY Poly email is the college’s official channel of communication with you. Examples of what you will receive via email include semester billing statements, messages from professors, broadcast announcements, etc.
Upon receipt of your tuition deposit and confirmation form, your computer and e-mail account activation information will be sent to you via your personal e-mail.
For notification of your faculty advisor, contact Krista Thompson, Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies at 518-956-7017 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Contact your faculty advisor for course selection. After you’ve received academic advisement, log into Banner (our student record system) and register for classes.
Please note: our health requirements include proof of having received the COVID vaccine. Learn more here.
Complete the required health forms and return them to the Wellness Center by August 1 for a fall start and January 1 for a spring start. For your security, medical records should be faxed (rather than e-mailed) to 315-792-7371. Forms are available online.
Graduate students have the option of living on or off-campus. If you choose to live off-campus it is your responsibility to secure your housing. Visit Residential Life to explore on-campus housing and dining options.
Billing notification for the semester will be sent to your campus e-mail address when it is available. You will be directed to log into Banner to view your bill, confirm your charges, and make payment. Failure to pay your bill by the due date may result in the loss of your course registration. Payment for the semester is expected prior to your arrival, so it is important that you begin to think now about your options for settling your bill.
Your options for paying your bill include:
- Credit Card – Log into the secure area of Banner Web Self Service, click on “Student Services and Financial Aid” located right above the Search box. Click on “Student Records”, click on "E-Billing and Payments”, select appropriate term, make full payment, or enroll in the payment plan.
- TransferMate Global Payments – This option allows international students to pay by bank transfer right from their home country.
- Money Order or Check (Demand Draft) – You can mail in a money order or check (demand draft) from your home country, payable to "SUNY Polytechnic Institute".
