The CARES Act Emergency Relief Fund at SUNY Poly serves to provide cash grants to students who have encountered short term financial emergencies as a result of campus disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The emergency situations must be documented hardships that are a direct result of campus disruptions. Students must be eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid in order to qualify for CARES Act funding (note: students must be a US citizen or permanent resident to be eligible for Title IV funds).
The emergency relief funds will be used for eligible expenses as defined by a student's cost of attendance including: food, housing (including shipping and storage expenses), course materials, technology needs for distance learning, transportation, health care, and child care. The funding cannot be used to cover credit card bills, tuition, or on-campus room and board charges.
Students must apply by July 6, 2020 using the SUNY Poly CARES Act Emergency Relief Fund Application: webapp.sunypoly.edu/forms/cares-act-emergency-relief-funding
A student's application and all related documents will be kept confidential. All applications will be reviewed by committee after the application deadline. Students will be notified via their SUNY Poly email account when a decision has been made on their application.
