We are continuing to accept nominations for the 2021 Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.

This year the Chancellor’s Awards for Student Excellence will be offered in two categories.

First, the General Award with special achievement in at least three of the following areas: Academic Excellence, Leadership, Campus Involvement, Community Service, or the Arts. Each campus may nominate up to three students for this award, a select number of students will be awarded this honor within each SUNY sector.

SUNY is introducing new Special Awards, which will be awarded to ONE student system-wide in each of the following categories: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Military; Special Service (COVID-19); and Overcoming the Odds. SUNY Poly may nominate one student for the Special Award in one of the categories listed above.

The deadline for submitting nominations has been extended from January 13 to January 27, 2021. In order to be eligible, a student must graduate between June 2020 and May 2021.

We ask that nominations include a brief bio on the student and a short summary of accomplishments in the specific areas identified above. Once the nominations are submitted, we will follow up with the nominees for additional information. Please send your nomination(s) to Lori Becker (lori.becker@sunypoly.edu).

A committee made up of staff and faculty from both campuses will review all nominations and recommend candidates to move forward to SUNY for final consideration. SUNY Poly has the opportunity to nominate a total of four students, three in the general category and one in the special awards. The student(s) who are selected by the SUNY University-wide selection committee for the award will be invited to a virtual awards ceremony to be held on April 14, 2021.

Thank you for helping us recognize our amazing students. We look forward to your nominations.
