Internal (Faculty & Staff)

In compliance with the SUNY-wide Child Protection Policy, members of the campus community who plan to host a campus sponsored youth (any child under the age of 17) program or activity, must complete the Registration Form for University Sponsored Youth Program or Activity in advance of the scheduled event. All youth programs are required to adhere to the policies and procedures pertaining to the Child Protection Policy.

Take the mandatory SUNY Poly Youth Protection Policy Training.

Ratios of Trained Staff to Child:

  • 5 years and younger: 1 staff for each 6 children
  • 6 - 8 years: 1 staff for each 8 children
  • 9 - 14 years: 1 staff for each 10 children
  • 15 - 16 years: 1 staff for each 12 children

If your department or organization is collaborating with a third-party organization (an external group) to bring children to campus for a visit or to participate in a University-sponsored program/activity, the visiting organization must complete the Acknowledgment of SUNY Poly's Child Protection Policy Requirements at least 3 days before the group’s visit. Some of these programs include, but are not limited to, performances, academic enrichment programs, school field trips to visit the campus, science outreach programs, Admissions tours, library visits, and so many other wonderful programs and activities that allow youth to participate in a variety of learning experiences and engagement opportunities here at SUNY Poly.
