Overview
The New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) is New York's intercollegiate entrepreneurship competition. The NYBPC provides a platform for New York's next generation of entrepreneurs to receive prize money, make connections, find mentorship, and launch new ventures. The NYBPC begins with regional competitions in New York's ten geographic zones. The SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) will host the Mohawk Valley regional competition of the NYBPC on April 3, 2026.
How It Works
Community college, undergraduate, or graduate students enrolled part or full-time at an accredited New York college or university during the current academic year are eligible to participate in the NYBPC.
After filling out the application, you will be contacted by the organizer for your regional competition with next steps. Applications are currently open and will close on March 8, 2026.
Regional competitions are hosted locally in late March or early April in all ten regions across NY state. The winners of these competitions move on to the statewide finals. Students are assigned to a regional competition based on the location of their school. All regional competitions follow the NYBPC rulebook and judging rubric, but format and timing of the regional competitions vary.
For more information, visit the NYBPC website.
How to Apply
To participate in the NYBPC, students must complete the application form.
Your regional organizer will then contact you with additional instructions for the application process.
