The Master of Science in Accounting degree program is a 33-credit-hour program consisting of 11 courses that allow students to pursue their professional interests. The fully online program accommodates both full-time and part-time students.

The Master of Science in Accounting program is registered to satisfy the 150-semester-hour education requirement for CPA licensure in New York State. The program was developed in response to the increasing number of accountants with undergraduate accounting degrees seeking to advance their professional careers in public, corporate, not-for-profit, and government accounting.

The program also supports students pursuing professional accounting credentials, including the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations.

The program is primarily intended for students who have the equivalent of an undergraduate degree in accounting. Students without an accounting background who wish to broaden their capabilities and specialize in this field may also pursue the program.

These students must complete additional undergraduate prerequisite coursework as part of their plan of study under the guidance of the program coordinator.

The online MS in Accountancy is registered by the New York State Education Department as a licensure-qualifying program for students seeking to fulfill the 150-semester-hour education requirement for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure.
