Joseph Wasswa
Joseph Wasswa is an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Before SUNY POLY, Joseph was one of the members of the inaugural cohort for the School of Engineering Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2022 to 2025. He earned a BSc in Agricultural Engineering from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, an MS in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University, San Diego, CA, USA, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, USA. He also obtained a Certificate of Advanced Study in Sustainable Enterprise (CASSE) in 2021 from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. Using analytical and computational skills, his current research focuses on understanding the transformation and fate of contaminants in the environment.
