Research Interest:

  1. Our primary objective is to spearhead the advancement of a pioneering methodology concerning Mechanically Interlocked Molecules (MIMs), encompassing structures such as rotaxanes and catenanes, within the realm of supramolecular chemistry. Central to our endeavor is the development of a robust technique aimed at augmenting the properties of late stage drug molecules through the strategic application of this innovative approach.
  2. Project 2 involves a collaborative effort with Professor Mahesh Pattabiraman from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Our joint focus is on utilizing supramolecular assistance to precisely control the generation of single oxygen, a crucial component in various chemical and biological processes. Singlet oxygen refers to a highly reactive form of molecular oxygen (O 2 ) that exists in an excited electronic state with two unpaired electrons in separate spin orbitals. Singlet oxygen is known for its ability to participate in oxidation reactions and is often involved in processes related to photodynamic therapy and the degradation of organic pollutants in the environment.
