Title: Assistant Engineer
Mechanical/Electrical Engineer for Fabrication Department reporting to Lead Engineer
and Shop Manager
Job Duties Include:
• Design of lighting fixtures using industry standard parts and common raw
materials
• Creating shop drawings, assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, cut files, 2d/3d
renderings, etc., for internal/external usage.
• Auto Cad and SolidWorks drafting/designing
• Testing practical application of design elements
• Additional duties as assigned
Responsibilities:
• 40 hr + work week M-F
• Some weekends required
• Probationary period to be completed
• Overtime as directed
• Field work as needed
• Work closely with customer service and fabricators
• Creating designs to meet customer specifications
• Oversee proper fabrication of project designs
• Accurate record keeping of parts for kits/assemblies
Qualifications:
• Mechanical/electrical engineering degree from accredited institution
• Must be proficient in CAD software: SolidWorks preferred; similar programs
(AutoCad, etc.) may be acceptable
• Experience working in a team environment
• Knowledge of shop equipment/machinery including breaks, shears, welding
equipment, forging equipment, etc. necessary for fabrication
• Fabrication and welding experience a plus
• Knowledge of industry standards and materials
• Knowledge of common fasteners
• Superior documentation, organizational and time management skills a must.
