National Grid awarded SUNY Polytechnic Institute $1 million in clean energy grants toward finding new, more sustainable ways to power the state.
Ken Daly, president of National Grid in New York, said the grants will go toward the new ZEN Building as well as "earmarking" funds for technology companies to bring products from idea to commercialization.
The grants were announced on Wednesday night during the college's annual iClean incubator meeting. The iClean incubator is funded through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and serves nanotech and clean energy startups throughout the state.
