As you prepare for a new academic year, please feel free to explore the communication resources for faculty, staff and students available on our website, sunyit.edu/publicaffairs. These include:

*SUNYIT PowerPoint templates

*A style guide, at sunyit.edu/usage or sunyit.edu/guide, that answers some common SUNYIT usage and writing style questions

*Our new institutional wordmark, SUNYIT: New York’s Public Polytechnic, for use in email signatures and elsewhere

If you don’t see what you're looking for, please let us know.

If you have an announcement of interest to the campus community, you can post it to the blogs for students, faculty and staff at: http://blogs.sunyit.edu. Summaries of recent posts are e-mailed via community mailer on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and are always available via the Announcements links on our home page.

News releases are archived at news.sunyit.edu; postings to the internal newsletter, Interface, are at interface.sunyit.edu, and the electronic version of the SUNYIT alumni magazine, The Bridge, is at www.sunyit.edu/thebridge. SUNYIT announcements, information, photos, video, etc., are also available at: www.facebook.com/sunyit, www.twitter.com/sunyit, and www.youtube.com/sunyit.

It's a good time to sign up for NY-Alert, our emergency notification system, or update your subscription information. There’s a NY-Alert link at the bottom of the sunyit.edu homepage that will prompt you to log in to Banner Web Self Service. Follow the instructions and select the Emergency Alert Contact Information link to verify that you want to receive NY-Alert messages.

You can always reach the staff with your communication questions by e-mailing news@sunypoly.edu. If you have a suggestion about our website, you can e-mail webmaster@sunypoly.edu.

Have a great semester!

The Office of Public Affairs builds relationships and helps tell the SUNYIT story, on and off-campus, through a variety of media. From the design of publications to the coordination of content on our website, www.sunyit.edu, staff members work to support and publicize the activities and achievements of SUNYIT students, faculty and staff.
