Cyber Attack on The Lifetime Healthcare Companies

The Lifetime Healthcare Companies recently mailed correspondence dated September 9, 2015, informing members that it, and its affiliates; including the MedAmerica Companies, Excellus and Univera Healthcare, was the target of a sophisticated cyberattack which may have compromised member data. The attackers may have gained unauthorized access to individuals' information which includes name, address, telephone number, date of birth, Social Security Number, member identification number, financial account information, claims information, and, in some instances, clinical information. Lifetime Healthcare Companies is offering members free credit monitoring by TransUnion and identity theft protection services through Kroll, a global risk mitigation industry leader.

NYSHIP recognizes that affected enrollees are concerned about this situation and they will have questions about their personal information.
