The State University of New York at Fredonia seeks an innovative, strategic, and committed individual to serve as Director of Programming & Application Services (State Title - Assistant Director Computing Services, SL5, TERM/tenure-track) beginning March 2015. The successful candidate will guide the institution’s progress towards business intelligence, improved reporting and enterprise-level data governance, and will provide strategic guidance and operational recommendations aligned with the core mission of the institution.  Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Information Technology/CIO, the Director will manage the portfolio of programming and application services, largely consisting of the Oracle enterprise student information system (Ellucian Banner) and administrative reporting services using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), as well as other applications serving the campus. The successful candidate will work with teams in administrative and instructional units across the institution to ensure business process optimization and administrative efficiencies. Management of the portfolio will include systems and process analysis, software development, data governance, application architecture and  database integration. Management of the Programming and Applications team will include oversight of  all programmers, DBAs, operators, and developers. The Director must be able to lead and communicate effectively with senior leadership, while effectively building and sustaining relationships across a diverse array of stakeholders.
