The State University of New York Board of Trustees today appointed Dr. Robert E. Geer as acting president of SUNYIT, effective August 1, 2013.  Dr. Geer has served since 2007 as vice president of Academic Affairs and chief academic officer, as well as professor of Nanoscale Science, at the UAlbany College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, and has taught at UAlbany since 1996. Dr. Geer holds a B.S. from Miami University (Ohio), and Ph.D from the Univeristy of Minnesota.
