Field Operations Technician Apprentice

This position is an apprentice position located in Croghan, NY and the candidate may be asked to move to
another location in the future based on Iroquois’ needs. The position is a training position and is expected to
progress to a Field Operations Technician level in approximately two years.
Perform a variety of operational and maintenance tasks associated with the following areas; pipeline,
measurement, corrosion, compression. These tasks are to assure continuity of operations of assigned facilities
within Company operating/safety/environmental procedures. Insure operability of engines, compressors,
cooling equipment, pumps, valves and fittings and other associated equipment. Operate and maintain assigned
company vehicles and equipment. Follow all safety procedures. Ensure operator qualification compliance
through continued education and training.
Knowledge:
As this position is an apprentice, the following knowledge and skills are an advantage, however not required.
Ability to read and interpret operating manuals and engineering standards. Knowledge and hands-on skills
using various mechanical/electrical/measurement/hand and power tools to operate and maintain a compressor
station, turbines and related equipment. Effective analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to prioritize
and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Effective oral/communication/ basic computer skills.
Experience with PLC based controls, turbines compression equipment a plus.
Education and Experience:
High school degree/GED/technical degree and/or industry experience with a technical background.
