Student Spotlight: Ashley Gibbons

Ashley Gibbons is a second year undergraduate student at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering and is involved with research onsite, focusing on tissue engineering. For clubs, she is the president of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the secretary of the USGA. Not only is she passionate about science, she is also passionate about Taekwondo. She has been training at a local taekwondo studio for over fourteen years, having started at five years old. Through Taekwondo, and other volunteering endeavours, it is evident that she strongly believes in making a positive impact to the world.

Faculty Interview: Dr. Yubing Xie

Professor Xie is not only an erudite professor who teaches at SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Albany campus, but also a research scientist for cell biology and tissue engineering. Professor Xie shared her experiences from college to her ongoing career now at SUNY CNSE. As a professor, she teaches Chemical Principles of Nanoscale Science and Engineering I, Chemical Principles of Nanoscale Science and Engineering lab II, Biomedical Nanotechnology, and Nanobiology for Technology Applications.
