Hudson Valley Community College Signs New Wide-Ranging Transfer Agreement with SUNY Polytechnic Institute

TROY, NY—Two of the Capital Region’s leading State University of New York (SUNY) institutions recently signed an agreement that will provide seamless transfer for students in over 20 degree programs.

Hudson Valley Community College (Hudson Valley) and SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) will allow students who successfully complete an associate degree at Hudson Valley to transfer as a junior into 29 unique bachelor’s degree programs at SUNY Poly. The programs covered by this articulation agreement include, among other Business and Liberal Arts degrees:

·        Accounting

·        Biology

·        Civil Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering Technology

·        Clinical Dependency and Human Services, or Health and Wellness, to Community Behavioral Health

·        Computer Information Systems to Computer Science

·        Cybersecurity to Network and Computer Security

·        Digital Media to Communication Information Design

·        Engineering

·        Engineering Science to Nanoscale Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineering

·        Finance

·        Health Information Management

·        Human Services to Psychology

·        Nursing

·        Psychology to Community Behavioral Health

·        Public Administration to Community Behavioral Health

“It’s vital that we continue to build more transfer opportunities like these so that students have access to quality, affordable higher education at a SUNY college or university,” said Hudson Valley President Roger Ramsammy. “Students can build their educational plans with the knowledge that they can transfer their Hudson Valley credits directly to a degree at a respected four-year institution like SUNY Poly.”

“On behalf of SUNY Poly, we are excited to further expand the institution’s longstanding partnership with Hudson Valley Community College,” said SUNY Poly Acting President Dr. Tod Laursen. “This articulation agreement will open valuable paths for students to earn both associate and baccalaureate degrees as they pursue a well-rounded academic experience.”

Hudson Valley students are now able to build on their associate degree and pursue a bachelor’s degree at SUNY Poly. They can find more information about the agreements by contacting the college’s Center for Careers and Transfer.
