Indium Corporation has donated $10,000 to support SUNYIT's STEM outreach, which provides programming for students and educators from kindergarten through high school.

"Indium Corporation is very proud to support the SUNYIT STEM Outreach program, because their goals align so closely with ours," said Dawn Roller, Director of Human Resources and General Services at Indium Corporation. "They help cultivate, motivate, and educate our community’s future technology leaders. As Utica’s Technology Company®, The Indium Corporation will certainly benefit from having a pool of motivated, educated technology graduates in our community."

STEM-related programs at SUNYIT include the annual technology showcase and a variety of academic summer camps, as well as FIRST Lego League (FLL) robotics competitions and events. FLL encourages students ages 9-14 to engage in creative learning, working in teams, using hands-on technology. At the same time, parents and teachers find themselves working with applied technology and professionals who volunteer their time to assist with the program.

"We’re grateful for the support of Indium Corporation," said Deborah Tyksinski, associate provost for continuing professional education and sponsored research at SUNYIT. "STEM education is a national priority, and SUNYIT has long been committed to building interest and opportunities for younger students to pursue education and careers in these areas. Industry support is a vital part of this effort."
