Associate Vice President for Business Affairs SUNY Institute of Technology

SUNY Institute of Technology (SUNYIT) is seeking applications and nominations for the Associate VP for Business Affairs.  Reporting to the president, the successful candidate will provide strategic direction and oversight for all financial operating, recording and reporting including annual operating and capital budgeting, financial planning, forecasting and analysis.  The incumbent has daily responsibility for managing the fiscal affairs of the college and oversees the following offices within the Business Affairs unit: bursar, purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, the college association, campus & corporate events, and the mail room & print shop.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; advanced knowledge of general accounting practices and specific fund accounting principles; demonstrated progressively responsible management experience in accounting, finance, business or a closely related field; strong attention to detail, organization and problem solving skills; effective interpersonal skills to work with multiple level of staff and external constituencies; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and proven record of personal integrity.

Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA); MBA or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; Higher education experience.
