LeJeune Explores Sound and Color at International Arts Conference
Associate Professor Nick LeJeune recently presented his research at the Nineteenth International Conference on the Arts in Society, hosted by Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. His presentation, titled “What Is the Correlation between Sound and Color in Raw Digital Data Formats?”, touched on the intersection of new media, technology, and the arts, aligning with the conference’s focus on exploring the role of emerging technologies in artistic practices.
LeJeune, who currently serves as an Associate Professor of Interactive Media and Game Design at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, has an extensive academic and artistic background. He earned a B.A. in Art from McNeese State University and an MFA in Arts and Design from West Virginia University. Over the years, his work has been showcased at prestigious venues, including solo exhibitions in Chicago, IL and virtual festivals in New York City. In 2021, his interactive installation was accepted into the Concept 2021 exhibition at the Czong Institute of Contemporary Art in South Korea, and in 2023, his work was featured in the Performing Media Festival at Indiana University South Bend.
The Arts in Society conference, founded in 2000, provides a platform for interdisciplinary discussions about the relationship between the arts and society. The event gathers artists, educators, and scholars to engage critically with art’s impact across various cultural and social contexts. LeJeune’s participation in this conference highlights his ongoing contributions to the discourse surrounding new media and the evolving role of art in both academic and public spheres.
