Re:Disney Institute Customer Service Training Program May 17

At this time of year, when we celebrate student achievement in so many ways, it is particularly appropriate that we refocus our attention on service to students. From the moment they first learn about SUNYIT to their walk across the stage at Commencement, and beyond, they are our first priority.

SUNYIT's commitment to building a unique learning community, one that puts students first, has long been a strategic goal. At a time when students have many college choices at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, it is increasingly important that we renew this commitment. And I am pleased to share with you that a unique opportunity for all staff, the Disney Training Program, will be presented on our campus on Friday, May 17, 10-11:30 a.m., in the Student Center multipurpose room. Refreshments will be provided.

Attendance at the May 17 program is expected for all staff. Some staff who work in areas considered essential to health and safety or offices critical to operations will be excused from participation and will be notified by their supervisors after discussion with the appropriate vice president. Additionally, staff who have previously been approved for leave on May 17 are not required to attend the training.

Disney is renowned for its excellent customer service, and we are fortunate to be hosting a day-long Disney Institute on May 16; the following day’s training is provided exclusively to SUNYIT staff as a result. Some staff are attending the day-long program as well.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the May 17 program. RSVP by Monday, May 13, online or by calling human resources, ext. 7191.

Thank you!
