From: Robert Geer, Acting President
As the academic year draws to a close, please join me
in
congratulating all our candidates for undergraduate and
graduate
degrees who will be honored at Commencement. Preparations
for the
May 10 event in the Wildcat Field House are nearly complete,
and we
are pleased that the renowned inventor and entrepreneur Dean
Kamen
will deliver the keynote address. It promises to be a
memorable
event for graduates and their families.
This is an exciting time for SUNYIT in many ways, and I
have
greatly enjoyed my first year as Acting President. While
I was
very much looking forward to sharing the celebratory
activities of
Commencement weekend with all of you, I will be attending my
son's
May 10 college graduation in Chicago. Our Provost, William
Durgin,
has graciously agreed to perform my ceremonial duties at
Commencement, and my thoughts and best wishes for a
successful event
will be with all of you.
