With the imminent retirement of Bruce Reichel, I am appointing John Swann, chief of staff and director of public affairs, to serve as interim vice president for administration to ensure continuity of administrative oversight.

As many of you know, the search for a vice president for administration is underway; members of the search committee, chaired by Deborah Tyksinski, are working diligently to ensure that the best candidates are considered for the position. The above interim appointment will remain in effect until the new member of our administrative team begins his or her duties.

My thanks to John for his willingness to accept this assignment. I know that you will give him all the support and cooperation needed to ensure that SUNYIT’s administrative functions continue to run smoothly.
