Please plan to attend an important free Citizen Preparedness Training Program in the Student Center multipurpose room on Saturday, February 8, starting at 12:30 p.m. Governor Andrew Cuomo and Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente have extended an invitation to SUNYIT students, faculty and staff, and all residents of the Mohawk Valley, to attend this event on our campus.

Those attending the training session will receive the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. Each family participating will receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Starter Kit. To attend, you must register in advance at prepare.ny.gov.

Preparing for an emergency is vital for all of us. As the Governor said in his recent State of the State address, “With severe weather events becoming more frequent and more extreme, it is more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared for disasters and know what to do in an emergency.”
