It has come to our attention that UnitedHealthcare (UHC), the Medical vendor for The Empire Plan, has mailed correspondence to enrollees requesting Social Security number information for enrolled members.

This letter was sent in error and contains incorrect information regarding the State's compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). Please disregard UHC's mailing.

The Department of Civil Service already sent a letter in late October requesting this information to comply with PPACA.
