Psychological Reports

Psychological Reports published, “Anxiety and Avoidance in Close Relationships Are Associated with Responses to Negative and Positive Stimuli,” research by SUNY Poly’s Dr. Rebecca Weldon, Assistant Professor of Psychology; Dr. Kazuko Behrens, Associate Professor of Psychology; and Dr. Daniel Jones, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology; with alumni Erin Drake and Justine Fragetta, who assisted with the research while they were undergraduate students at SUNY Poly.

The research article focuses on individual differences in the evaluation of the affective nature of environmental stimuli. The aim of the current study was to examine how anxiety and avoidance in close relationships correlated with valence ratings of positive, negative, and neutral stimuli.
