The Rome Rotary Club will hold its International Student Day on Saturday, Oct. 14.
The program, which began over 35 years ago, is sponsored by Rome Rotary in collaboration with Utica College, SUNY Polytechnic Institute and Mohawk Valley Community College.
It was developed to show Oneida County’s international students the opportunities and attractions that Rome has to offer.
Participating students from the three colleges will start with a visit to the Rome Historical Society. Lunch will be served at MVCC, catered by Emily’s Tastebuds.
Following lunch students will briefly tour Rome’s Griffiss Business and Technology Park, including a tour of MVCC’s Rome campus hangar (site of the college’s Airframe and Powerplant program) and the B-52 bomber on display at the Park.
The program will continue with the Capitol Theatre, and end the afternoon tour at the Fort Stanwix National Monument.
Home hospitality visits will then be held at the residences of Rotarians.
The program will conclude with a dinner served at the Polish Home.
The dinner speaker will be Andrew Drozd, founder, chief scientist and president of ANDRO Computational Solutions, a scientific research and development company headquartered in Rome, according to the Rome Rotary Club announcement.
