HOLLAND PATENT — Promising to return stronger than ever, the Second Mouse FIRST Robotics Team will compete in its first regional competition of the 2015 season on Saturday, March 21 , representing a collaboration of three high schools, Holland Patent, New Hartford and Proctor, creating a very diverse but tight-knit group.

The New York Tech Valley Regional will take place at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy.

Founded last year, the team has returned after a successful first season and has welcomed new members who have  contributed to its successful growth. The student advisers from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Marcy continue to advise and mentor team members. Carrying on the spirit of their past high school experiences in robotics, they have shared their knowledge and tricks of the trade with the young team.

Meeting at least three times a week, the students congregate on the SUNY Poly campus in Marcy to work on this season’s competition robot. The Second Mouse team aspires to be just as successful, if not more, than last year as they compete at this year’s regional. Bringing home the title of “Rookie All Star” in 2014, The New York Valley Tech Regional gave the Second Mouse an opportunity to compete in the World Championship competition in St. Louis, Mo.
