Joseph Stanton of Rome was among SUNY students taking part in a research symposium at the Empire State Plaza in Albany recently.  “Boosting Innovative Exploration Forum: Undergraduate Research in New York State’s Public Higher Education System” was presented by the SUNY Faculty Senate and the Faculty Council of Community Colleges. Participating students created and presented posters that described their scholarly or creative work.

The celebration was designed to bring together some of SUNY’s most talented undergraduate scholars with SUNY Administration officials and members of the Legislature. Stanton is pursuing bachelor’s degrees in applied mathematics and computer and information science and a master’s degree in computer and information science at SUNYIT. His research presentation was mentored by Zora Thomova, professor of mathematics at SUNYIT.
