Chancellor Johnson is excited to announce the first ever SUNY Chancellor Esports Challenge powered by Extreme Networks. It is an esports tournament open to SUNY Poly students, as well as all SUNY schools.

Chancellor Johnson has committed $10,000 and sponsor Extreme Networks has committed $10,000 – meaning that $20,000 in prizes are up for grabs. All prize money will be directed to the winning schools’ Student Emergency Fund. Participating students represent their respective colleges and Student Emergency Funds.

To get involved, students need to do the following:

  • Join the SUNY discord by clicking here. Important game day communication will be posted here, so check often.
  • Request an invite link to tournament coordinators at LeagueSpot either by email, or in the Discord server.
  • Each school needs a staff member or student manager to be the primary contact for their school.

The tournament includes three games: Fortnite Duos, Super Smash Bros., & Rocket League 3v3. Schools are limited to *two* teams per game. Registration is live and continues throughout this week and the beginning of next week. The tournament begins next Monday, April 27 and lasts for three weeks. Please register as soon as possible.

Questions regarding the tournament format and registration process should be sent to Tournament Coordinator Zach Braaten & his team at LeagueSpot. Zach has set up a SUNY discord server account. Zach’s team can chat with people in real-time who have questions. You can also email the LeagueSpot team at suny@leaguespot.gg.
