UTICA, NY – SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) proudly announces that its College of Business has earned reaccreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the global leader in business education standards. Only about six percent of the world’s business programs have achieved this distinction. This prestigious reaccreditation affirms SUNY Poly’s continued commitment to academic excellence, faculty distinction, and transformative learning that prepares students for success in today’s dynamic business landscape.

“This reaccreditation underscores the exceptional work happening within our College of Business,” said Provost Dr. Andrew Russell. “Our faculty are deeply engaged in research and teaching that connects students to the challenges of modern business, while fostering critical thinking, ethical leadership, and innovation.”

Recognized as the gold standard for business school accreditation, AACSB ensures that institutions uphold the highest standards of quality, relevance, and continuous improvement. SUNY Poly’s reaccreditation validates the strength of its programs, the caliber of its faculty, and the value delivered to students, employers, and the regional and global communities it serves.

The reaccreditation process involved a rigorous multi-year peer review evaluating the college’s mission alignment, strategic direction, faculty credentials, learning assurance practices, and broader societal impact. SUNY Poly demonstrated a strong commitment to ongoing innovation and adaptability in response to evolving global business trends. As a result, its graduates are equipped with the knowledge and experience needed to deliver meaningful contributions across diverse industries and communities.

“Achieving reaccreditation by AACSB reflects our dedication to excellence, integrity, and innovation in business education,” said Interim Dean of the College of Business Dr. Rafael Romero. “We are immensely proud of this accomplishment and excited to build on this momentum as we prepare to launch transformative initiatives that enhance student opportunities and community engagement.”

One such initiative is the NYSTEC Center for Business Excellence (CBE), which is slated to open on campus this fall. Funded in part by the generosity of the New York State Technology Enterprise Corporation (NYSTEC), alumni Steve ’06 and Gina ’03 Surace, Greg ‘15 & Maryrose ‘05 Raab, the Community Foundation, M&T Bank/Partners Trust Bank Charitable Fund, Robert Ablett Memorial Fund, Community Investment Fund, Senator James H. Donovan Memorial Fund, Jerome ‘75 & Donna Donovan, First Source Federal Credit Union, and Joseph M. Asselta Charitable Trust, the CBE will serve as a vibrant hub for interdisciplinary education, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The Center will integrate forward-looking topics such as artificial intelligence, business ethics, and financial market transformation, offering students new avenues for experiential learning and industry engagement.

SUNY Poly’s business programs also continue to earn national recognition for their affordability, flexibility, and high academic standards. “With renewed AACSB accreditation, SUNY Poly reaffirms its place among the world’s leading institutions for business education,” states SUNY Poly President Dr. Winston Soboyejo. “We are elevating our ability to drive positive societal impact through accessible education, ethical leadership development, and community-focused solutions.”
