UTICA, NY – The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) recently approved SUNY Polytechnic Institute Assistant Professor of Engineering, Dr. Asif Ahmed, as an ABET Program Evaluator (PEV). This comes after Dr. Ahmed successfully completed the required training at ABET’s Baltimore, Maryland headquarters in April.

Dr. Ahmed will begin visiting schools in the Fall 2023 semester and reviewing their programs as part of the ABET accreditation process. As a PEV, Dr. Ahmed will be serving the profession by contributing his experience, judgment, and time, all of which will have a direct impact on the quality of technical education in the engineering field.
