SUNY Poly's Tyler Allen Recognized by OHM BOCES
Tyler Allen, senior laboratory specialist in the SUNY Poly’s College of Arts and Sciences, was recently recognized with the School to Career Programs Made a Difference Award from Oneida-Herkimer-Madison (OHM) BOCES. The honor was presented during their recent SABA Breakfast, which brought together approximately 170 school leaders, educators, students, and regional business representatives.
Tyler received the award in recognition of his commitment to mentoring students through the Regional Program of Excellence, where he provides hands-on internship and shadowing opportunities at SUNY Poly. Over the past several years, high school students have worked alongside Tyler during both the academic year and summer months, gaining valuable exposure to laboratory practices and research environments. These experiences culminate in student presentations about their time at SUNY Poly and the skills they developed.
By connecting students with real-world laboratory experiences and mentorship, Tyler plays an important role in supporting regional workforce development and inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals.
