Dear Faculty, Staff and Students of SUNY Polytechnic Institute,

This is an exciting time for SUNY Polytechnic Institute as we are in the midst of developing new branding, marketing, and communications materials. A proposal from a leading design firm was selected by a team of representatives from both the Utica and Albany campuses to create a unifying SUNY Poly logo as well as seals for the institution’s 5 colleges (College of Arts and Sciences, College of Health Sciences and Management, College of Engineering, College of Nanoscale Sciences, College of Nanoscale Engineering and Technology Innovation). Representatives from both campuses will participate in design meetings in both Utica and Albany, and input from all SUNY Poly stakeholders will be encouraged during this important process.

In the meantime, I am aware of the current need for SUNY Poly communications materials. A temporary logo, developed and enthusiastically supported by key stakeholders from both campuses, including for example unanimous support from the Utica Technology Committee, has been approved for use on items such as internal communications, letterhead, PowerPoint presentations, student mailings, email signatures and business cards.  The logo and examples of proper usage are available online at http://www.sunyit.edu/publications_office/templogo.  When using the logo, please abide by the “Logo Guidelines” document which is also available on the logo page.  A more comprehensive set of logo and branding guidelines will accompany final designs upon completion.
