SUNY Polytechnic Institute and DPS Engineering hosted a ribbon cutting Thursday at the school's ZEN building to celebrate the opening of DPS's U.S. headquarters.

SUNY welcomed the Ireland-based architectural and engineering company to the school. DPS chose Albany for its advanced technology group headquarters because of the governor's Startup-NY program.

SUNY Poly students will have the opportunity to use DPS' offices and resources for firsthand learning and research.

"It's our belief that DPS is uniquely placed to serve as SUNY Poly's globally recognized hi-tech educational system," said DPS CEO Frank Keogh. "DPS will also provide opportunities for graduates from SUNY Poly."

DPS is expected to create 56 new jobs and invest $40 million in the Capital Region over the next five years.
