Gov. Andrew Cuomo today announced GE and Austrian company AMS will both be coming to Marcy, bringing roughly 1,500 additional jobs and billions of dollars in private investment to Nano Utica.

That brings the total investment in the Marcy facilities to more than $3.5 billion, and puts the total expected jobs at 2,500, officials said. GE will invest $200 million in the project and bring 470 jobs to Quad-C.

Chip manufacturer AMS will invest $2 billion in the first phase of its involvement and bring at least 1,000 jobs to the area.

"I can count on one hand how many time I've been at events I believed were truly transformative and historic ... this is one of those moments," Cuomo said during the 11 a.m. news conference.
