Utica Observer-Dispatch: EDGE awards reflect innovation, growth
of local companies

Local companies on the forefront of innovation, growth and sustainability received Leading EDGE awards Thursday at SUNY Polytech Institute.
Recipients included the Boilermaker Road Race, CTM Corporation, Mercer’s Dairy, Revere Copper Products, and Varflex Corporation.
Presented by the Mohawk Valley Economic Development Growth Enterprises Corporation, Leading EDGE Awards are given to companies in the Mohawk Valley that significantly contribute to the growth of the region’s economy. Economic impact of the Boilermaker alone is more than $8 million. In the 38 years since its start, the race has grown from a single-day road race of 876 runners to a week-long event of more than 20,000.
