One of the biggest pieces in the Buffalo Billion is starting to take shape along the Buffalo River.
7 Eyewitness News reporter Jason Gruenauer took a tour of the Riverbend facility on Friday. The site, which is currently under construction, will be the home of Solar City.
Just eight months ago, there was a field where the skeleton of the building now stands. Now crews are making fast progress to transform that field into one of the largest solar panel manufacturing facilities in the country. It is already around 35 percent complete.
The facility will cover 23 acres and total 1.2 million-square feet. Currently, 375 construction workers are on site, but by year’s end, there will be around 1,500.
