There's a new tool in town that will help supply organizations that support local veterans. The veteran's supply vehicle was unveiled at the Utica Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday.

An old military vehicle was purchased by Express Employment Professionals and refurbished. Express teamed up with local businesses including First Source Federal Credit Union and The Utica Comets to kick off a Veteran's Supply Initiative.

"This is a Veteran's Supply Drive Initiative which is a collaboration of local organizations, businesses and Veteran's groups, to really honor Veterans in our region," said John Calabrese, of Express Employment Professionals. "Also to raise awareness of those organizations in our community and those services that they provide."

It was actually John's son who came up with the idea.  "We see a lot of Veterans come into our doors and it's tough because these people give so much and they come back and they get so little so we want to do anything we can to help them coming back," said John Calabrese, a Senior at SUNY Poly.

The vehicle will be stationed at local events, as a collection site for food, items and monetary donations. Several corporate sponsors are helping including Sitrin Healthcare, CABVI and A&P Master Images.
