MARCY, N.Y. - SUNY Polytechnic Institute held its first-ever white coat ceremony for nursing graduates today in the Wildcat Field House.

They brought a high-profile speaker for the inaugural ceremony: Loretta Ford is credited with establishing the first nurse practitioner model and training program, after beginning her own career back in 1942.
