SUNY Poly held a M anufacturing Expo at the Marcy campus Friday. N ew York has long been home to manufacturing plants, but many have closed over the years. T hat's a big reason why SUNY Poly holds an annual Manufacturing D ay Expo.

Manufacturers and area educators were onhand to talk to students and community members who are interested in manufacturing careers. T he expo featured more than 60 interactive exhibits, and an emphasis on educational and employment opportunities for veterans.

"What we want to do is, we have a lot of students that are veterans, we want to show them an extra opportunity to connect with these employers, and we also know that employers really value some of the skills that veterans come out of the military with," said Jerry Gretzinger, Vice President of Strategic Communications and Public Relations for SUNY Poly.
