ALBANY -- Colton Robtoy carries his 3D printer all over the UAlbany and SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering campus. 3D printing is his passion and he doesn't think enough people know about what that little machine can manufacture.  That's why he's going to tell them about it.

Robtoy has organized the Capital District Printathalon for the weekend of September 19th.  Schools, organizations, and 3D printing companies will be filling two rooms at CNSE, churning out designs.  There's even a 24-hour printing competition.

"People can just walk in the door and see it live right in front of their faces and ask the people questions who are already in the industry and experts," said Robtoy.

Robtoy, a junior nanoscale engineering and applied mathematics major at the nano school, has always loved designing in 3D and then he discovered the 3D printer.
