Re: Volunteers needed
Please consider volunteering for an important part of
Freshman Orientation: the Ropes Course. We will have
approximately 300 incoming freshmen to put through the Ropes
Course. We need faculty and staff to assist with this program,
highly rated by past Orientation attendees. Your help is needed
during a three-hour block on Friday, August 23, from 9 a.m. -
noon or from 1 - 4 p.m.
Volunteer facilitators will receive training on one element of the Ropes Course. Facilitators will stay with their element and the students will rotate throughout the course during the time period. It is a great way to see many of our new freshmen in action. Each faculty/staff facilitator will have a student assistant.
Training will take place on Wed, Aug 14, at 1 p.m. in the Campus Center Lobby. We will walk out on the Ropes Course so each volunteer can select the element that they would like to facilitate. Please respond to Lisa.Capuana@sunypoly.edu to be added to our list of Orientation Ropes Course facilitators. Thanks for your support--let's make our new freshmen feel welcome!
