The Research Foundation (RF) is a private not for profit educational corporation that provides grants and contract support for SUNY Polytechnic Institute and many other SUNY campuses. The RF offers faculty, students and staff the flexibility necessary to focus on research and other sponsored programs funded by federal and state governments, private sector companies and nonprofit foundations.
A 1977 agreement, approved by the state comptroller, director of the Division of the Budget, and the attorney general, formalized the RF’s role as the organization responsible for managing research grants and other sponsored programs for SUNY.
Since 1951 the RF has worked with academic and business leadership to support essential research and discovery that translate into invention, innovation, entrepreneurship, economic opportunity and public benefit.
