MakerLab Community Policies

The MakerLab is a shared, open-access space. To keep it that way, users must follow these policies

Share: The MakerLab is a shared space. Return supplies, tools, and equipment to their proper location and in clean, working condition so they are ready for others to use. Do not remove any tools or equipment from the MakerLab. If a piece of equipment isn’t working, report it to a lab supervisor immediately. The MakerLab is a multi-use space; respect those around you and avoid activities that interfere with others’ work.

Clean: Clean your work area(s) before you leave. Wipe or brush clean your table, sweep the surrounding floor, and put all garbage and recycling in the proper receptacles. Erase your whiteboard areas if you do not need them, and make a note not to erase your board area if you do need your work preserved.

Store: There is very limited storage in the MakerLab. The worktable cabinets have unsecured storage that you may use – be sure to mark the cabinet with your name with a sticky note or painter’s tape. There are storage lockers outside of the MakerLab that you can use. If you have a larger project, please contact the MakerLab administrator to discuss.

Be safe: In order to use the MakerLab on your own, you must complete the CGAM basic safety training. Users are responsible for following safety procedures. Do not bring food or drink into the MakerLab; there is a seating area outside the lab where you can eat.
