First-Year Students: Let's Get Started!
There are a few ways to apply: please submit one application:
The SUNY Application allows you to apply to multiple SUNY schools with one application.
Apply online by submitting the SUNY Application. The fee is $50.
The Common Application allows you to apply to over 500 participating schools with one application.
Apply online by submitting the Common Application. The fee is $50.
Submit the following for a completed application:
- Official high school transcript(s)
- SAT or ACT scores (College Board School Code: 0755, ACT Code: 2953)
- SUNY Supplemental Application (PDF) OR SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Supplement to the Common Application (which is contained within the Common Application)
- One letter of recommendation (or form allowing for individual comments) from a school-based counselor or teacher.
- Note: Nanoscale Engineering and Nanoscale Science applicants in addition to the above items, you must submit a brief, personally written statement of purpose that addresses the reasons s/he wishes to enter the CNSE nanoscale science program or nanoscale engineering program. Please limit your response to 500 words or no more than 1.5 type-written pages. Submit essay via email as an attachment to admissions@sunypoly.edu.

Transfer Students: Apply Now
Transfer students can only apply using the SUNY Application for the spring and fall 2019 semesters.
Apply online by submitting the SUNY Application. The fee is $50.
Submit the following for a completed application:
- Request an official transcript from every college or educational institution you've attended since high school and mail to the Admissions office. Faxed transcripts aren't considered official. Transcripts should be mailed to:

- If you've earned fewer than 30 college credits after high school graduation at the time of application, your high school transcript and standardized test scores are required. You should request your official transcript from your high school to be submitted electronically or by mail to SUNY Poly’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions (address above). Have your SAT/ACT scores sent electronically from the testing service. The College Board SAT Code: 0755, ACT Code: 2953
- An application fee waiver can be awarded if you are a New York State resident transferring directly from a two-year NYS public college (SUNY/CUNY) who will have earned an associate degree by the time of their planned entrance at SUNY Poly.
- A supplemental application (PDF) is not required, but preferred.

Graduate Applicants (MBA, M.S. or Ph.D. programs): Apply Now
Apply online by submitting SUNY Polytechnic Institute's Graduate Application. The application fee $60.
