Once a candidate submits the online application, they will receive a confirmation email with all of the necessary links and details to complete their application. Please note, candidates will not upload any items during the online application. The GRE exam is required for application to the following programs: Computer Science, and Network & Computer Security.
The GRE is strongly recommended for the Nanoscale Science/Engineering programs.

(Note: domestic applicants with a 3.0+ GPA may request a GRE waiver based on academic/professional experience).
The GMAT exam is required for application to the following programs:
- MBA Technology Management
- MS Accounting
- Advanced Certificate in Forensic Accounting and Valuation

A waiver of the GMAT exam may be requested in the following circumstances:
- The applicant previously earned a master's degree in another field OR
- The applicant has passed all four sections of the CPA (Certified Public Accountants) examination OR
- The applicant is a licensed CMA (Certified Management Accountant) OR
- The applicant has an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher and has completed graduate business or accounting coursework at SUNY Poly as a non-degree student, and has earned a grade of B+ or higher in each course. (The non-degree coursework can be completed during the summer, fall or spring term.)
- The applicant has a GPA of 3.0 or higher with a major in business or accounting from an AACSB accredited business program in the U.S., or with a major in health information management or health informatics program from a CAHIIM accredited program in the U.S. within the last 7 years OR
- The applicant has an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher in any major from any accredited university or college, within the last 7 years OR
- The applicant has relevant professional experience of 5 years or more, will be reviewed on a case by case basis
To request a GMAT waiver, submit the online GMAT Waiver Request Form after you have submitted an Application for Graduate Admission.
There is a non-refundable $60 application fee.
The $60 application fee is waived for military veterans, active-duty military, reserve and guard members, and their spouses and dependents; SUNY Poly alumni; and current matriculated students; former CSTEP, EOP, HEOP, and SEEK students.
Application deadlines are as follows:
- July 1 for fall admission
- December 1 for spring admission
Exceptions: Family Nurse Practitioner, February 1st, fall start only
These are firm deadline dates which will allow for the timely processing of financial aid and course registration.
SUNY Poly reserves the right to close admission at any time prior to the application deadline.
For a fall start (August), notification of admission begins in February and continues until August 1.
For a spring start (January), notification begins in October and continues until December 15.

Domestic graduate students must submit a $150 deposit, along with their completed “Enrollment Confirmation Form.”
Full-time International graduate students must submit a $250 deposit, along with their completed "Enrollment Confirmation Form" by the date outlined in their acceptance letter.
All new domestic graduate students are first required to complete SUNY Poly Essentials, an online orientation program. Online course registration will take place once the orientation has been completed. Details are mailed to all confirmed students.
New international graduate students will be advanced registered. Students will be notified via email once their course registration has been processed.
Prospective students can apply to complete select coursework as a non-matriculated student before they are required to be admitted into a degree program. A maximum of 6 credit hours is recommended for non-degree study, but select programs may allow completion of up to 12 credit hours. Submit the Non-Matriculated Application for consideration.
